CODERDOJO-Do it yourself!
Workshops for children aged 7 to 13

For BergamoScienza 2015, to highlight the artistic language of the great abstract painter Kazimir Malevich – whose works are on display from 2 October 2015 to 17 January 2016 – GAMeC in Bergamo is hosting two free workshops for children aged 7 to 13 to introduce them to the world of programming, web development and digital literacy.

The CoderDojo workshops will be held by the start-up Plat1 and connected with the educational events of Europe Code Week 2015.
The museum itinerary will start with an encounter with Malevich. GAMeC’s educators will illustrate how the artist’s works are able to distance themselves from objects in order to focus on thoughts, as is the case with programming language, creating an important bridge between art and science.

Each workshop will last about three and a half hours (including a snack break). An online open-source platform will be used: “Scratch” (free software developed by MIT in Boston).

- bring a laptop that can be connected to the WiFi (Windows, Mac OSX or Linux), with a mouse and charger
- sign the privacy release form for the video-photographic material documenting the event
- bring a small snack

Note: The children cannot have participated in more than one CoderDojo in the past.
