WEEK 1 (June 13 – 17)
ART, EMOTIONS AND IMAGINATION
Led by Francesca Frosio, Museum Educator

Part explorer, part artist, part writer, part performer: this week we will dress in different shoes to visit new worlds. We start with the reality of our daily adventures, which become works of art and performance. Then let’s let our imagination run wild, invent a world of our own, and turn it into a special book, made not of words but of artistic surprises. The last journey is within ourselves: we discover our inner world and use the emotions we encounter on the way as unconventional material.

WEEK 2 (June 20 – 24)
TIC TAC
Led by Oscar Biffi, Museum Educator

Sometimes time never seems to pass and the dust settles slowly, as on the musical instruments of Evaristo Baschenis. Other times everything changes quickly and continuously, as in the Impermanent Collection. In art, as in life, there is a time for everything: to mark our week we will imagine and build together a very special clock, to give value to each moment.

WEEK 3 (June 27-July 1)
IMAGINARY FRIENDS
Led by Oscar Biffi, Museum Educator

If you know him well, can you take a picture of the invisible man? We’ll try to ask the smartest portraitists at the Accademia Carrara, and together we’ll also explore GAMeC’s Impermanent Collection, to discover how many ways we can evoke the presence of the one who is not there. What do our imaginary friends look like?

WEEK 4 (July 4 – 8)
THE FORMS OF ART
Led by Elena Zilio, Museum Educator

How many forms can art take? We will analyze the qualities of the works on display, separate light from shadow, and discover the threads that weave the infinite rainbow of art. We will in turn create small and large masterpieces inspired by paintings, sculptures and installations that we will encounter in the halls of GAMeC and Accademia Carrara.

WEEK 5 (July 11 -15)
THE SMALL MUSEUM
Led by Alessandra Beltrami, Museum Educator

Tissue paper, glue and color will guide us into the magical world of the museum to tell fantastic stories of friendship and peace. We will be inspired by the books and techniques of American illustrator and writer Eric Carle, who will lead us into a special world…get ready!

WEEK 6 (July 18 – 22)
WONDERS…IN A BOX!
Led by Anna Ramera, Museum Educator

“Wonder is a round gift that goes and returns between the eyes and the world,” writes poet Bruno Tognolini… But how often do we forget it in a drawer? And how many more do we think we have lost it? This week we will try to rediscover it, training our gaze among the halls of GAMeC and Accademia Carrara, and in order not to let it escape we will lock it in a very special box!

REGISTRATION CLOSED

WEEK 7 (July 25 – 29)
IF IT WERE… ART
Led by Sabrina Tomasoni, Museum Educator

Have you ever played the “if you were” game? It involves imagining what we would look like if we were an animal, a color, a place, an object. Looking at the works in Accademia Carrara and GAMeC we will find interesting cues to create our own new and unprecedented Identity Card. Working tools will be our gaze, to investigate details and pick up new connections; we will also use books, illustrations, music and games every day. Individual and group activities will be helpful in creating an artistic portrait.

WEEK 8 (Aug. 29-Sept. 2)
THE GLOBETROTTING WORKSHOP
Led by Francesca Frosio, Museum Educator

How big is an atelier? Ours is huge; the whole world fits in it. We prepare our artistic baggage, and travel to discover distant arts, traditions and legends. For each country we will have an artist as our guide and make a traditional artifact, including matrioskas, darumas, azulejos and haikus. There is also a large space in our workshop to entertain ourselves with music from around the world to create a borderless playlist. There is a long way to go, but in the atelier there is also a little corner to take a break, listening to stories and myths from afar.
