The GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea is delighted to host the film section of the Ugo La Pietra exhibition—curated by M. Cristina Rodeschini and Ugo La Pietra with the collaboration of Michela Bassanelli—promoted by the Accademia Carrara.

Ever since the 1960s, the artist has developed his work on the basis of the relationship between the individual and the environment, and over time producing method defined as “art in and for the social sphere.”

In an open dialogue between ancient and contemporary art, between various expressive media and reflections on space and function, the exhibition provides the public not only with the possibility to investigate one of the most original figures of our era, but also to revisit the great Carrara collection from a new perspective. The exhibition itinerary features four installations: three historic works and one previously unseen one, created especially for the show in Bergamo in direct reference to the Virgin Mary with Child by Jacopo di Antonello.

The section hosted at the GAMeC completes this multi-venue project.
