MYSTERIOUS SYMBOLS
Project by Oscar Biffi, Museum Educator
Meanings in works of art are frequently difficult to decipher, sometimes because they are very old, such as those preserved by the Accademia Carrara, and sometimes because they are very modern, such as those on display at GAMeC. But what if we were the ones who created our own symbols that others don’t understand?

I WANT TO BE-ALL ARTISTS!
Project by Valentina Maini, Museum Educator
Do you want to spend a week pretending to be an artist? That’s fine, but which one? You will be spoiled for choice at GAMeC and Accademia Carrara. But why limit ourselves when we can be a different person every day? We will be portrait painters like Giovan Battista Moroni, medalists like Beatrice Hamerani, still life experts like Evaristo Baschenis, vedutists like Canaletto, and, of course, contemporary artists!

WEEK 3 (JUNE 26 – 30)

ILLUSTRATE-WORLD
Project by Sabrina Tomasoni, Museum Educator
A journey through works of art in which we’ll translate scenes seen in the works of artists into gestures and drawings. This week’s workshops will lead to experimenting with useful solutions for telling stories, expressing feelings, and painting emotions toward our own personal illustration of the world, from painting to pose, pose to image.

WEEK 4 (JULY 3 – 7)

NATURALLY… IN THE MUSEUM!
Project by Laura Zambelli, Museum Educator
Did you know that you can find nature in museums? Does it appear to be impossible? Instead, the Accademia Carrara and GAMeC are full of ‘things of nature’: we’ll spend a lot of time in the exhibition spaces, but we’ll feel like we’re under a tree, running through green meadows, smelling flowers, and admiring a clear sky.
This week, we’ll discover how much nature exists within the halls of city museums, reap the benefits, and take a small piece of it home with us.

EXPLORE THE CITY: from Bergamo to the world and back!
Project by Elena Guaitani, Museum Educator
Cities are full of surprises! This week, we explore Bergamo and its surroundings from the inside out, from above and below. We learn about its architecture, nature, and the people who live and walk through it. We will then be inspired to build our ideal city through visits, games, and activities, imagining what is not there but could be!

IN THE ARTIST’S SHOES – BETWEEN DANCE MUSIC AND PAINTING
Project by Sara Ausilio, Museum Educator
How do you communicate, tell something about yourself without saying a single word? You can play music and dance! Movements and rhythms will guide us through the works in the GAMeC and Accademia Carrara permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. This week, each child will create his-her own language in order to create a dialogue with shapes and colors. The artists will take us by the hand, allowing us to learn different techniques, express ourselves and play together.

WEEK 7 (JULY 24 – 28)

MUSEUMS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR
Project by Francesca Frosio, Museum Educator.
Museums house valuable items, and nothing is more valuable than ourselves, and our imaginations. This week, with the help of some books and picture books, we will transform into architects, artists, curators, and guides to create three museums. One will be a model of our ideal Museum, another will collect a special moment, and the final will be a Secret Museum, where we will only show ourselves to those we prefer.

WEEK 8 (AUG. 28-SEPT. 1)

1… CITY, 2 MUSEUMS…, 3… PROFILES AND MORE
Project by Lucia Manuela Dondossola, Museum Educator.
Five days to fill one’s “suitcase-cube” with stories, landscapes, architecture and lots and lots of imagination. This week by visiting the Accademia Carrara and GAMeC, exploring the Bergamo area and working with imagination we will be able to build as many as four books that play with paper, light and shadows, transparency, threads and words!

IF I WERE…
Project by Cinzia Franceschini, Museum Educator
Our bodies change slightly every day: our skin regenerates, our hair grows longer, and our legs grow. But what if it suddenly transformed into something… other than human? Taking inspiration from artworks, GAMeC and the Accademia Carrara, as well as the surrounding nature, we will transform into cyborgs and leaves, forests and volcanoes! A week of metamorphosis balancing humans, nature, and technology.
