The summer camp of GAMeC and Accademia Carrara returns, with a program full of workshops, creative experiments, and new discoveries.

From June 9 to July 31 and from August 31 to September 11, 2026, children will be welcomed by museum educators ready to guide them through a unique and stimulating experience, exploring the works of the museums, in a world of art and culture.

For the 2026 edition, the educational team is expanding to include professionals in photography, graphic animation, and contemporary visual languages, offering even more engaging activities. In addition, some programs will be led by the team of the “Lorenzo Rota” Botanical Garden in Bergamo.

Through interdisciplinary activities, participants will explore art history, experiment with different creative techniques, and draw inspiration from the treasures preserved in the museums and across the city.

PROGRAM

Week 1 / June 9-12
Threads and Invisible Worlds
Projects by Irina Marieni Saredo and Giulia Gandini

A creative experience combining materials and imagination: threads, fabrics, and textiles become tools for storytelling inspired by the works of Accademia Carrara and GAMeC. Through weaving and experimentation, children will create their own narratives. In the afternoon, the program expands to exploring space and perception—lines, surfaces, and volumes. Through play with body and color, reality transforms into new perspectives. A journey that stimulates curiosity and imagination, reaching toward the invisible.

Week 2 / June 15-19
Perspectives and Art Games
Projects by Elena Zilio and Oscar Biffi

A path designed for children to discover the world and its stories. Through the lens of art, artworks, images, and shapes become tools to foster empathy, curiosity, and participation. These experiences then turn into play: within museum spaces, we will invent paths and rules and create our own “art game” full of creativity and discovery.

Week 3 / June 22-26
Marks and Practices of Freedom
Projects by Francesca Colombi, Chiara Gastoldi, and Francesca Pugni

Children experiment with how every gesture can become a creative mark—light or bold—that multiplies and transforms into ever-new images. We will then move outdoors—to a meadow, a hidden garden, or among park trees—where what seems still reveals life and biodiversity. We learn to shift our perspective and become receptive to our surroundings, turning every corner into a moment of wonder. An experience combining creativity, curiosity, and play, fostering imagination and love for the natural world.

Stories and Future Workshops
Projects by Lorena Sergeant and Sara Maccioni

The works of Accademia Carrara and GAMeC tell stories of people, choices, and changes across time. Observing them together, we explore today’s challenges and imagine how to address them, inspired by the artworks themselves. Through discussions, tableaux vivants, role play, and creative activities, children become designers of small and big changes—from daily habits to visions for the future.

Explorations and Nature in the City
Projects by Erika Pozzi and Chiara Gastoldi

Nature is always around us, even in the city: trees, birds, plants, and insects are worlds to discover. We become little explorers, using tools to observe our surroundings, uncover their secrets, and be amazed by their beauty. And what if we discover that a bit of the wild is inside us too?

Week 6 / July 13-17
Lights and Set Tables
Projects by Deborah Salvetti and Lucia Manuela Dondossola

A week to discover how many possibilities can arise from a simple act like sitting at a table. Tables stretch, connect, and transform to host laughter, encounters, and stories, becoming spaces for play and creativity inspired by the museums’ artworks. Throughout the day, materials like paper, threads, and fibers intertwine to create small light installations, patterns, and modules that invite new ways of seeing.

Week 7 / July 20-24
Art and Hidden Wonders
Projects by Oscar Biffi, Chiara Gastoldi, and Erika Pozzi

We explore how artists transform precious materials like gold leaf—or even discarded objects—into works of art. Children create their own pieces, learning that value comes from imagination and ideas. In the afternoon, guided by nature, we observe fields, gardens, and hidden details, discovering the beauty of subtle forms and colors.

Week 8 / July 27-31
Magic and Interwoven Perspectives
Projects by Francesca Frosio and Maria Guarneri

This week, our pencils become magic wands: we discover artists’ tricks, from Canaletto’s camera obscura to Op Art, creating true “optical magic.” Then we weave together the threads of our lives—people we love, places we visit, things that inspire us. Inspired by Renaissance symbols and artist Ana Silva’s embroidery, we create a large collective collage combining magic, color, and personal stories.

Week 9 / August 31 – September 4
Water and Stories That Take Shape
Projects by Francesca Colombi and Francesca Zorz

We will explore how simple elements become extraordinary creative tools. In the morning, we work with water—observing its movement and unpredictability as it transforms into stories and artworks. In the afternoon, we focus on threads—lines that weave through space, forming textures and small structures. Children experiment with techniques to create stories, textures, and forms.

Gardens and Golden Galleries
Projects by Francesca Zorz, Francesca Pugni, and Chiara Gastoldi

We experiment with gold leaf, transforming it into light, symbols, and imagined landscapes through collage and painting. In the afternoon, the garden becomes a place to observe and experience: trees, grass, and flowers help us connect with biodiversity and ourselves.
