On the occasion of the launch of the Pedagogy of Hope program, GAMeC presents its new APP to the public: a tool designed to promote a participatory, sustainable, and innovation-oriented cultural model.

Developed by Hidonix Industries, a company specializing in digital platforms for the cultural sector, the APP was created with the contribution of Regione Lombardia, Fondazione Cariplo, and Unioncamere Lombardia, and with the support of the European Regional Development Fund as part of the InnovaCultura 2024 call, which supports initiatives aimed at improving interaction with cultural heritage through innovative technological solutions.

The main features include:

– Interactive maps and indoor/outdoor navigation, to easily find your way inside and outside the museum

– Automatic multilingual translation, ensuring smooth use for international audiences

– Video guides in Italian Sign Language (LIS), audio guides, and audio descriptions, to enhance accessibility and enrich every visitor’s experience

– Automatic artwork recognition, with engaging narratives and in-depth content tailored to diverse audiences

– Thematic itineraries to explore the Collections and the Thinking Like a Mountain projects on display in the museum spaces

In addition to offering a more accessible and interactive museum experience, the APP allows users to visit GAMeC remotely, even offline, making art accessible anywhere.

Continuously updated and enriched with new content, the App is designed as a versatile educational tool, suitable for both classroom use and museum visits, with the aim of fostering curiosity and encouraging active student engagement. Furthermore, the use of digital maps and virtual guides contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing the need for printed materials.

In view of the opening of GAMeC’s new venue, the APP represents an important step in the museum’s digital evolution: a dynamic tool to strengthen the connection between contemporary art and the community through an increasingly open and participatory dialogue.
