After the first two cycles of events held in 2024, also in 2025 the biennial program promoted by GAMeC has actively involved the communities of the provincial territory thanks to the participation of international artists.

On the occasion of the third cycle of the program, during a tour through the valleys of Bergamo, the film works produced by GAMeC and directed by Michela de Mattei and Invernomuto, Agnese Galiotto, and Giulio Squillacciotti have been presented, along with the exhibition project Fossi io teco; e perderci nel verde by curator Greta Martina, winner of the twelfth edition of the Premio Lorenzo Bonaldi per l’Arte – EnterPrize.

PARAFLU
by Michela de Mattei and Invernomuto
February 8 – May 18, 2025

The reappearance of wolves in different parts of Italy led Michela de Mattei and Invernomuto to analyze the figure of this predator as a symbol of independence and knowledge, conflict and transformation. Paraflu ventures through the landscapes of the Lombardy Alps, alternating 16mm footage with artificial intelligence-generated effects that amplify the sense of disorientation and ambiguity evoked by the wolf, while also alluding to the tales of philosopher and naturalist Baptiste Morizot that describe the animal as possessing the magical art of misdirection.

MIGRATORI
by Agnese Galiotto
February 8 – May 18, 2025

Agnese Galiotto’s work explores the complex interaction between human beings and animals, starting from the encounter between a group of ornithologists and a number of specimens of various species of migratory birds. Involving two of the ringing stations to be found along the migratory route that crosses Italy longitudinally, down to North Africa, the artist manages to restore a two-fold dimension: one both scientific and profoundly human.

MUT
by Giulio Squillacciotti
February 8 – May 18, 2025

The film recounts, through the experience of two young mountain boys and their parents, the cyclical nature of life in the mountain pastures. Right from the title (which simply means “mountain” in Bergamo dialect), the role of the mountainside—which, when found all around, shapes the rhythms and experiences of those who inhabit it—is clear. In the film, however, it remains in the background of the actions of the young protagonists: the square format of the short film leaves room for shots that enclose portions of it, guiding attention to details and interaction between family members, and those between them and the animals. A stylistic choice that, rather than limiting its visual breadth, steeps the viewer in an intimate perspective, which forgoes open, descriptive fields so as to recount the deep connection between the mountainside and those who live on it.

12th EDITION

FOSSI IO TECO; E PERDERCI NEL VERDE
curated by Greta Martina

Serina (Bergamo) / Chiostro della SS. Trinità
February 8 and 9, 2025

GAMeC, Spazio Zero
February 12 – May 18, 2025

Drawing inspiration from the writings of Aldo Leopold and Giovanni Pascoli (the title is based on the line of one of his poems), the exhibition celebrates the desire to surrender to the green and find oneself in deep connection with the natural environment, and invites visitors to approach it with a sense of participation and responsibility. An exhortation to slow down and marvel at nature in order to rediscover the childlike sense of awe before the world, filtered through the perspective of a deeper awareness and responsibility typical of adulthood.

Fossi io teco; e perderci nel verde has been presented in the town of Serina—Lorenzo Bonaldi’s birthplace—on Saturday February 8, 2025, on the occasion of the opening, only to be later moved to GAMeC’s Spazio Zero. During the months of the exhibition, four performances by some of the artists involved in the project – open to the public – have also been presented around the city of Bergamo.
