READING SESSION / FRANKENSTEIN
Curated by OHT [Office for Human Theater]
Introduced by a musical performance by Marco Pasinetti, in collaboration with SonOrobie
GAMeC
The lesser-known pages of Frankenstein—the masterpiece written in 1818 by Mary Shelley—will be at the center of a group reading curated by Filippo Andreatta of OHT [Office for Human Theater]. The event offers a unique opportunity to listen to and center the voice of the creature, a defining figure in modern Western literature: a marginalized character fleeing solitude to embark on a journey of self-discovery and exploration of the world.
OHT will guide us through an investigation into the nature of the “monstrous”—an ambiguous term whose Greek root oscillates between the horrible and the wonderful—to demonstrate that the boundaries of otherness are not so clear-cut. Monstrosity, in fact, does not reside solely within the creature; it can mirror its creator, Frankenstein, as well as the words or the landscapes we inhabit.
The event will be introduced by a musical performance by Marco Pasinetti, organized in collaboration with SonOrobie. A guitarist and composer, the artist blends his rock and blues roots with a deep exploration of jazz and improvisation.
