Tempeste. L’olivo, il vino, le pietre: trilogia della rinascita (Storms. Olive tree, wine, stones: trilogy of rebirth)
Performance by the company O Thiasos TeatroNatura
Written and narrated by Sista Bramini
Polyphonies from the Mediterranean and Eastern traditions transcribed and performed by Camilla Dell’Agnola and Nora Tigges
Three ancient myths from Ovid’s Metamorphoses that, in different ways, speak of catastrophes and rebirths: the first narrates the origin of the olive tree, which the ancients linked to the founding of Athens and the birth of democracy; the second is linked to the birth of wine: a sentimental catastrophe transforms individual pain into a common good; in the third, it is mankind that is reborn.
In these three myths, new relationships are evoked between gods, women, men and animals, relationships that invite us to rethink and imagine ourselves in a new way, perhaps to prepare for a new world.
In the evocative setting of the Biodiversity Valley and the historic Astino Monastery, narratives and polyphonies interweave in the emotional and spiritual fabric of the stories and in the lively and direct relationship with the audience.

Performance
Superpaesaggio
by Attila Faravelli, Enrico Malatesta, Nicola Ratti
Rocca (Fortress), Bergamo Upper Town
A performative action that explores listening as an experience of movement and relationship between body, space and sound. Led by artists Attila Faravelli, Enrico Malatesta and Nicola Ratti, participants will interact with their surroundings through portable speakers, walkmans, microphones and pre-recorded sound materials. The sound elements will be related to objects found on site in order to transform the space into an active element of the soundscape. In the context of the performance, in fact, sound is experienced not as a passive element, but as an active form of exploration and connection, within a path of discovery and participation.
Performance
Rudimenti
by Enrico Malatesta
GAMeC
An evolving project through which artist Enrico Malatesta studies the expressive potential of percussion, Rudimenti combines the writing of texts and scores with the formalization of listening exercises and the development of a constantly expanding sound archive. For this occasion, the artist will present Bilia, an instrument designed in collaboration with Attila Faravelli for the Aural Tools series composed of five wooden spheres of different types. The performance, performed entirely acoustically, will be developed according to what the artist calls a “motion of horizontality,” in which sound, gesture and space describe a sensory and relational sound weave.

Performance
The Missing Forest
by Valentina Viviani
GAMeC
The Missing Forest is a performance walk born out of Argentinian artist Valentina Viviani’s research on the Indian Chipko movement, which developed in India in the 1970s. This peaceful act of resistance involved activists embracing trees to prevent their felling (“Chipko” in Hindi means “to embrace”).
The project also connects to a series of protests that took place in Córdoba in 2017 and explores the choreography of bodies hugging trees as an act of memory and resistance.
This performative intervention, promoted in collaboration with the Bergamo Polytechnic of the Arts, consists of two preliminary workshops for students at the Academy of Fine Arts—Thursday, April 10 and Friday, April 11—and concludes with a performance open to the public, by reservation only. The performance connects these movements to the city of Bergamo, its places, and its histories, reflecting on forms of protection, resistance, and the memory of the body.
